Mrs. Edna Louree (Sorrow) Maddox

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Edna Louree Sorrow Maddox, age 85 of Athens, Georgia who entered rest Monday, September 23, 2024.  Mrs. Sorrow was born in Athens, Georgia a daughter of the late James P. and Louree Mae Hardman Sorrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William J. (WJ) Maddox. Mrs. Maddox was a member of the Salvation Army and a Homemaker.

Survivors include Niece and Caregiver, Donna Rowland and her husband Roger of Jefferson, Sister in law and Caregiver, Jeanne Pittman of Bishop, Great Niece and Caregiver, Britney Gamble of Jefferson.  Brother, Danny Sorrow and his wife, Mary of Nicholson.  Many Nieces, Nephews, brothers and sisters in laws, great nieces and great nephews also survive.  

In accordance with her wishes, the remains of Mrs. Maddox are to be cremated and no service is to be held.
