Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Sara Frances Reynolds Hanson, age 84, of Jefferson, who entered into rest on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Mrs. Frances was born in Pendergrass, Georgia, a loving daughter to the late Rev. James Arthur Reynolds and the late Ola Mae Davidson Reynolds. Mrs. Frances retired from Jackson EMC and as well as finding joy in her work, she gained lifelong friendships there as well.
Mrs. Frances was a person of kindness, grace, and humility whose life was defined by how much love she could give to all those around her. She adored her family and was blessed to have the daughter she dreamed of, her “Sweetheart Vicki Gina”. While Mrs. Frances would be reluctant to admit it, she was a woman of many talents. She could sing and play piano by ear, bake the world’s best pecan pie and german chocolate cake, and make any plant she touched flourish. Mrs. Frances loved spending time with family, feeding and watching her hummingbirds, working on her word search puzzle books, and enjoying the outside with her sweet kitty, Midnight.
Through faith and prayer, Mrs. Frances led a life of devotion to Jesus. She was a true example of a biblical woman, one we all should strive to imitate. Mrs. Frances’ positive outlook on life was infectious and was reflected in her favorite book of the Bible, Revelation. This was her favorite book to read because it showed that everything turns out good in the end, God is victorious and evil is defeated.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her husband Harris O’Neal Hanson and her brothers and sisters, Ralph Reynolds, Mary Lorena Johnston, Carl Reynolds, Annie Grace Beatty, Louis Reynolds, Herman Reynolds, Eugene Reynolds and Christine Reynolds. She loved her family deeply and is rejoicing with them all now in Heaven.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Allen and her husband Matthew of Commerce; brother, Rev. Clarence Reynolds and his wife Barbara of Cornelia and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Bethany United Methodist Church with Mr. Matthew Allen officiating. The burial will follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. Gentlemen honored to serve as pallbearers are Mike Nabors, Daniel Harris, Mark Reynolds, Chris Shirley, Chad Robinson and Johnny Beatty.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00PM at Evans Funeral Home.
