Mrs. Gladys Bea (Cochran) Free

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Gladys Bea Cochran Free, age 81, of Pendergrass, Georgia, who passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Mrs. Free was born in Ellijay, Georgia, a daughter to the late Luther and Zelphia Cantrell Cochran. Mrs. Free was a Homemaker and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church in Pendergrass, Georgia. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Free was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Calvin Free, daughter, Tammy Renee Free and six siblings. 

Survivors include her son, Dennis Free and his wife Sarah of Pendergrass; grandchildren, Tyler (Tiffany), Dylan (Jessica), C.J., Danielle, and Shane; three great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Tinley and Zyla; and a special friend treated as a daughter, Bessie Farmer, also survives. 

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Cave Spring Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Long officiating. The burial will follow in the Cave Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Dennis Free, Rodney Holland, Tyler Free, Dylan Free, Danielle Free, Josh Whisnant and C.J. Ruggles honored to serve as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home and on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at Evans Funeral Home.
