Mrs. Glenda Ann (Vickery) Nixon

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Glenda Ann Nixon, age 67, of Commerce, Georgia who entered rest Saturday March 1, 2025. Mrs. Nixon was born in Royston, Georgia the daughter of the late W. C. Vickery and the late Sara King Vickery. In addition to her parents, she was prceded in death by her husband, Gene Gaines and a sister, Brenda Vickery.

Mrs. Nixon worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, loved dancing and listening  to music but most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Survivors include a daughter, Mandy Meacacke (Joe) of Hull, GA. Two sons, Daniel Nixon of Crawford, GA and Joshua Nixon (Cierra) of Gray, GA. Fourteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Sister, Sandra Shubert (Steve) of Watkinsville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday March 7, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home with Pastor David Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Church Cemetery, Bogart, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
