Mrs. Jacquelyn "Jackie" (Wilson) Smith

Mrs. Jacquelyn “Jackie” Wilson Smith, age 87, passed away on November22, 2024 at Wesley Woods of Newnan. She was the daughter of Frank and Blanche Wilson. Jackie grew up in Dry Pond and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955 where she played basketball and tennis. Among her many accomplishments, she was awarded the Patsy Evans Athletic Award. After graduation, she married Rev. Queon Smith and they spent the next 45 years serving United Methodist Churches together in the North Georgia Annual Conference along with appointments in Ohio and Maryland. After their retirement in 2000, they enjoyed their mountain retreat on Taylor’s Ridge and their campsite at Talking Rock Creek Resort. Her favorite pastimes included family time, exercising, traveling abroad, auctions, and refinishing furniture. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband along with nine siblings; Alice, Ann, Thelma, Doris, Betty, Gwendolyn, Herman, Therman, and Frank Wilson, Jr. Survivors include her son, Tim and his wife Shawn; her daughter, Lisa and her husband Ronny; grandchildren, Heather(Matthew), Jennifer (Justin), Casey (John), and Aaron; three great grandchildren Lexi Ann, Adalie, and Elsie-Quinn; her sister Barbara Lynn along with many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Dry Pond Methodist at 10 Plainview Rd, Maysville, Ga on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 1:00 with Rev. Bill Edwards officiating.
