Mrs. Janette Y. (Gillespie) Smith

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Janette Y. Smith, age 80, of Hoschton, Georgia who entered rest Tuesday September 3, 2024. Mrs. Smith was born in Mobile, Alabama the daughter of the late David Gillespie Jr and the late Fannie Mae Daniels Gillespie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scott Ryder.

Mrs. Smith worked as a Interior Designer and loved to work with antiques. Mrs. Smith attended Center Point Church. 

Survivors include her husband of thirty four years, Johnny B. Smith of Hoschton, GA. Two sons, David Ryder and Donnie Ryder (Teresa) both of Knoxville, TN. Two grandsons, Justin Ryder and Christian Ryder both of Knoxville, TN. 

In accordance with Mrs. Smith’s wishes, she will be cremated and a small family gathering will take place at her residence, 52 Kiley Drive Hoschton, GA at 12 noon on Thursday September 5, 2024.
