Mrs. Jean (Brown) Potter

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Shirley Jean Brown Potter, age 80, of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Mrs. Potter was born in Corinth, Mississippi, a daughter to the late Raymond Clay Brown and the late Gladys Marie Gatlin Brown. Mrs. Potter was retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company where she was an office manager. She was a member of the Galilee Christian Church and owned and operated Jean’s Bridal Tux of Class, catering many wedding in the area for years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Potter was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Potter.

Survivors include her children, Tanya Renee Carney and her husband Ray of Jefferson; Bobby Bryan Potter of Jefferson, Lori Suzanne Horne and her husband Travis of Jefferson; brothers, Charles Brown and his wife Beverly of Nashville, TN and Mike Brown and his wife Cindy of Meridian, Mississippi; sister Betty Rawson of Houston, TX and five grandchildren also survive.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Minister Brennon Touchet officiating. The burial will follow in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. 

The visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, prior to the service.
