Mrs. Jeania Marie (Bennett) Chandler

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Jeania Marie Chandler, age 55, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Friday August 25, 2023. Mrs. Chandler was born in Athens, Georgia the daughter to the late Henry and Jean Chancey Bennett.

Marie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Marie met her husband Boyd Chandler while in school together and they were married on August 2, 1986. Marie and Boyd recently celebrated their 37th anniversary together. The pastime she cherished the most was spending time with her family. In December of 2022, Marie welcomed her first grandchild, David Alexander Lord. She loved visiting him in Cochran, GA as much as she could and talking to him on Facetime. She was an employee at Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, GA for 26 years and was the Registrar for the majority of her time there. Marie loved being around children and enjoyed seeing students succeed. She was an active member in her church and honored God by singing in the choir and playing the piano. Marie was also a true friend to many people and shared God’s love with them. She was a prayer warrior for many and always prioritized the needs of others before herself.

Survivors include her husband, Boyd Chandler of Jefferson. Daughter, Dr. Brittany Lord (Austin) of Cochran, GA. Grandson, David Alexander Lord. Sister, Sharon Presley (Darrel) of Nicholson, GA. Brother, Michael Bennett (Candy) of Madison County, GA. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 27, 2023 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robbie Black and Reverend Kenny Hamm officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 11 A.M. until time of service at 2 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Joshua Presley, Brian Presley, Avery Lynch, Ronnie Lynch, Ryan McConnell, Lewis McConnell, and Dakota Thurmond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in memory of Mrs. Marie Chandler to the Mission Program at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 4291 Jackson Trail Road, Hoschton, Georgia  30548.
