Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Joan Murphy Canup, age 69, of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered into rest Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Gainesville, Georgia. Mrs. Canup was born in Commerce, Georgia the daughter of Marian Coker Murphy of Pendergrass, Georgia and the late William E. “Sprout” Murphy. Mrs. Canup was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Crystal Greenwood (Shane) of Homer, GA and Amber Wood (Emory) of Lula, GA. Two sons, Kevin Canup of Toccoa, GA and Master Chief Keith Canup of Norfolk, VA. Nine grandchildren, Mackenzie Canup, Robert Wood, Lane Wood, Conner Wood, Marlee Wood, Eli Wood, Ronni Wood, Rebecca Greenwood and Autumn Greenwood. Mother, Marian C. Murphy of Pendergrass, GA. Sister, Sara Murphy of Pendergrass, GA. Brother, Danny Murphy of Pendergrass, GA.
In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Canup, her remains will be cremated and no services are to be held.
