Mrs. Johnnie McKinney Dowdy

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Johnnie McKinney Dowdy, age 93, of Maysville, Georgia, who passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. She is now at peace with our Heavenly Father. Mrs. Dowdy was born in Opp, Alabama, a daughter of the late John Henry McKinney and the late Lula Beatrice Bradley McKinney. Mrs. Dowdy was a devoted Manager of the Bread of Life Food Kitchen for several years, and then a School Crossing Guard with the Putnam County School System. Mrs. Dowdy was a dedicated member of the Victory Christian Fellowship in East Palatka, Florida. 

 Survivors include her sons, James Marvin Dowdy of Peachtree Corners, GA and John Gregory Dowdy of Maysville, GA, daughters, Johnnie Kaythern (Kay) Peoples (Tom) of Jefferson, GA and Jinger Rae Gale (Mike) of Pensacola, FL; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive.

 The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Foster officiating.

Mrs. Dowdy will be interred in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery in Vidalia, Georgia. Family will convene for a graveside memoriam at a later date.
