Mrs. Lera Mae (Meade) McManus

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Lera Mae Meade McManus, age 82 of Athens, Georgia. Mrs. McManus was born in Jefferson, Georgia the daughter of the late Charles Wesley Meade and the late Jessie Lera Meade.  Mrs. McManus was retired from the University of Georgia and in addition to her parents, is preceded by her husband, Michael Joseph McManus, along with brother Thomas Meade.

Survivors include a niece Maria Moor and her husband Wayne and their daughter Kelsey Brewer and her husband Christopher K. Brewer.  A sister in law, Martha Wilbanks Meade also survives.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 7, 2026 at Woodbine Cemetery Jefferson, Georgia. Family will receive friends at the graveside.
