Mrs. Linda Joyce (Ivester) Gilstrap

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Linda Joyce Gilstrap, age 72, of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered rest Thursday March 28, 2024. Mrs. Gilstrap was born in Gainesville, Georgia the daughter to the late Johnny Cortez Ivester and the late Minnie Lee Chambers Ivester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Gilstrap and seven siblings. 

Mrs. Gilstrap worked as a Lab Tec with Merial Select, was a administrator with Johnson Sausage, loved being outside working in her yard but most of all loved helping to raise her grandchildren. 

Survivors include daughter, Tracy Whisnant of Pendergrass, GA and son, J W Cleveland of Cumberland, Maryland. Three grandchildren, Laura Baker (Chris) of Gainesville, GA, T J Cleveland of Cumberland, MD and Blake Whisnant of Pendergrass, GA. Two great grandchildren, Braylin Baker and Riley Baker. Two brothers, David Ivester of Nicholson, GA and Ricky Ivester of Pendergrass, GA. Three sisters, Sylvia Sisk (William) of Anniston, AL, June Hicks of Gainesville, GA and Doris Ivester of Dahlonega, GA. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In accordance with Mrs. Gilstrap wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
