Mrs. Mary Williams Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and

treasured Memaw, Mary Alice Evans Williams, age 87, of Talmo, GA on October 30th, 2025.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at

Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson, GA. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm at

Mountain Creek Baptist Church in Pendergrass, GA on Sunday, November 2, 2025.  The body will be placed in the Church at 1:30 pm.

Mary Alice was born December 12th, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Alvin & Orene

Benson Evans of Pendergrass, GA . She was also preceded in death by her husband,

Hansel Williams, whom she missed terribly after his passing in 2020.

Mary Alice’s selfless love & caring spirit touched the lives of many. She was the organizer

for our family gatherings and a phenomenal cook. She enjoyed cooking for others at church

and for her family at home. She also enjoyed her career, working at Fieldale Farms for 42

years from its inception, and she retired from the corporate office in Baldwin when her

granddaughter, Whitney, was born in 2004. Most recently, she had been a part of the

Walden’s Cove Personal Care Home community for the last year where she received

exceptional care. Yet, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, Matt & Whitney, as well

as her extended family. We will forever treasure the special memories and times spent with

her.

Mom’s heart of gold and willingness to help others was evident throughout her life. She was

the true servant, always putting others first. She leaves a huge legacy behind and a void

that can never be filled. We can only imagine that when she entered the arms of Jesus, she

heard,

“Well done, My good and faithful servant!”

She leaves behind her children, Angela Williams Hulsey (spouse Steve) and Melanie

Williams Satterfield (spouse Ronnie); grandchildren, Matt Satterfield of Kansas City, MO

(spouse Nicole) & Whitney Hulsey of Pendergrass, GA, her dear sister, Sandra Edwards

(spouse Alton) of Woodstock, GA and brother Roy “Peanut” Evans (spouse Peggy) of

Pendergrass, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Steve Hulsey, Ronnie Satterfield, Matt Satterfield,

Nathan Evans, Doug Pinion, and David Stevens. Honorary pallbearers include Roy

“Peanut” Evans.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Mountain Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 510 Pendergrass, Georgia. 30567 or Walden’s Cove Personal Care Home, 1442 Johnson Mill Road, Jefferson, Georgia  30549.
