Mrs. Nell (Gibson) Archer

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Nell Gibson Archer, age 92 of Jefferson, Georgia (Redstone Community) who entered rest Thursday, May 21, 2026.  Mrs. Archer was born in South Jackson County, Georgia a daughter of the late James Aubrey Gibson and the late Sallie Belle Damron Gibson.  Mrs. Archer was retired from Westclock and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Archer is preceded by her husband, Bobby Lee Archer and five children, Ronald Eugene Archer, Waymon Douglas Archer, Franklin Joseph Archer, Eddie Lee Archer and Elisa June Irvin, and two grandchildren, Cory Archer and Kelvin Irvin.  Also preceded by siblings, Johnny Gibson, Jimmy Gibson, Mary Lee, Sue Hawkins, Jean Morgan and Jackie Reid.  

Survivors include four children, Donald Dean Archer (Yolande Norwood), David Archer (Yvonne), Barbara Campbell (Wayne) and Helene Archer.  Sister, Carol Dills and brother, A.G. Gibson , nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and seven great - great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 23, 2026 from the Redstone Community Church, 6722 Athens highway, Jefferson, Georgia with Reverend Zack Hawks and Reverend Mike Stowers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Douglas Archer, Drew Archer, Daniel Gibson, Taylor Archer, Billy Hawkins, Aiden Archer and Brandon Archer.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 22, 2026 at Evans Funeral Home.  Mrs. Archer lie in state Saturday prior to the service 10:30 – 11:00 A.M. in the Church.
