Mrs. Peggy Sue (Edmondson) Holton

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Peggy Sue Edmondson Holton, age 77, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Wednesday February 19, 2025. Mrs. Holton was born in Gainesville, Georgia the daughter of the late James Edward Edmondson and the late Euzene Tanner Edmondson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Holton Sr, son, Jeff Holton and a granddaughter, Autumn Holton. 

Mrs. Holton worked in the accounts payable department with North Georgia College, Dahlonega. Georgia. Peggy was a member of Brockton Road Baptist Church where she was active in the church with Bible School and Sunday School. But most all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Jerry Holton Jr. (Melinda) of Dahlonega, GA. Daughter, Becky Mercer of Flowery Branch, GA. Four grandchildren, Amber Raven of Jefferson, GA, Jonathan Holton (Katie) of Jefferson, GA, Jacob Mercer of Duluth, GA and Jessica Mercer of Flowery Branch, GA. Five great grandchildren, Hudson Holton, Macie Holton, Haley Shubert, Dawson Shubert and Camdin Raven. One great great granddaughter, Haizlee Jubilee Edgeworth. Three brothers, James Edmondson of Jackson County, GA, Billy Edmondson of Gainesville, GA and Doug Edmondson (Pat) of Gainesville, GA. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday February 26, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Carl Mealor officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral at Evans Funeral Home.
