Mrs. Reba Lee (Bowles) Childs

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Reba Bowles Childs, age 89 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Friday, October 29, 2021.  Mrs. Childs was born in Winder, Georgia a daughter of the late Charles Wesley “Pete” Bowles and the late Ollie Estelle Fields Bowles.  Mrs. Childs was retired from Jefferson Mills after forty-four years and was known in the Jefferson area as an expert biscuit maker having made thousands at various locations after her official retirement.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Childs is preceded by her husband, George Dorris Childs, a son, Johnny Childs and a grandson, Chris Childs.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat Smith (Randall) of Ila, and Estelle Wells (Joe) of Jefferson.  Son, Jack Childs (Elaine) of Jefferson.  Daughter in law, Judy Childs of Winder.  Eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and thirteen great great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverent Matt Calvert and Reverend Robert Burt officiating with burial to follow in Woodbine Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 1, 2021, at the funeral home.
