Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Rena Mae Dalton Sealey, age 99, of Locust Grove, Georgia, who passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Athens, Georgia. Mrs. Sealey was born on April 6, 1924, in White County, Georgia a daughter to the late Oscar Charles Dalton and the late Lottie Key Dalton. Mrs. Sealey will be dearly missed by her husband of 60 years and Family. Mrs. Rena was a Godly woman who loved the lord Jesus with all her heart and her Family. Mrs. Sealey had worked at the Jefferson Mills in Jefferson, Georgia, King Mills in Augusta, GA where she was a machine operator and was a Store owner in Locust Grove, Ga before retiring. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family as well as watching her favorite game shows and televised Gospel / Preaching. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit that was seen by all that knew and loved her.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sealey was preceded in death by her son, Louis E Roberts, her daughters, Maebelle Chambers and Addie Beatrice Lewis, Grandchildren, Samantha Sealey and Kimberly Cannon.
Survivors include her husband, I.H. Sealey of Locust Grove, sons, Rusty Sealey Sr. of Eatonton, Georgia and Marty Roberts of Locust Grove, Georgia. In addition to her husband and sons, Mrs. Sealey is survived by 18 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren and 21Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In accordance with Mrs. Sealy’s wishes, her remains were cremated and a private Celebration of Life Service will be held later by her family.
