Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Sara Collins Adams, age 97 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Mrs. Adams was born in Gainesville, Georgia the daughter of the late Curtis Bunyan Collins and the late Maude Alma Stewart Collins. Mrs. Adams was a member of Galilee Christian Church and was a familiar, friendly face in around the furniture and appliance industry in Jackson County for many years, having worked for Smitty’s Appliance for twenty years and Sanders Furniture for twenty five years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams is preceded by her husband Joseph Hope Adams.
Survivors include daughters, Deborah Ray (Robert) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Denise Birnbaum (David) of Nashville, Tennessee. Sons, Joseph Hope Adams, Jr. (Cindy) of Buford and John C. Adams (Robyne) of Bogart. Ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren also survive.
In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Adams, her remains are to be cremated and a graveside service will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, April 17, 2026 at Galilee Christian Church Cemetery with Mr. Doug Mize officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
