Mrs. Shirley Ann (Underwood) Channell

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Shirley Ann Channell, age 76, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from a recent illness. Mrs. Channel was born in Pendergrass, Georgia, a daughter to the late William Tommy Underwood and the late Stella Culpepper Underwood. Mrs. Channell was a Christian who loved Jesus and her siblings, nieces and nephews unconditionally. She was a retired receptionist for a finance company. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Channell was preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche Kinney, Joan Cody and her brothers, Thomas Underwood, Johnny Underwood, Jimmy Underwood, Harry Underwood and her nephew, Greg Beck.

Survivors include her brother, Charles Underwood and his wife Jan of Pendergrass; brother in law, Clelle Kinney and his wife Shirley of Pendergrass; sister in law, Linda Underwood of Pendergrass; much loved nieces and nephews, Todd Underwood, John (Lana) Underwood, Scott Cody, Seth Bush, Joy Underwood, Kathy Underwood, Tera Bayard, Julie (Butch) Moore, Judy (Steve) Pearson, Jennifer Underwood, Dawn Cody, Valorie Patton, Cristy Beck and the family fur baby “Rambo” also survives.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Compton officiating. The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Charles Underwood, Scott Cody, Seth Bush, Chad Pearson, Patrick Pearson and John Drew. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Todd Underwood, Steve Pearson and Chase Pearson.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM, at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
