Mrs. Theodora (Bailey) Watson

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Theodora Bailey Watson, age 78, of Jefferson, who passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Mrs. Watson was born in Gainesville, Georgia, a daughter to the late Junior and Minnie Saddler Bailey. Mrs. Watson had worked at Athens Regional Hospital as a housekeeper and was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Watson and her sister, Lobelia Carruth.

Survivors include her son, Edward Bailey and his wife Edna of Gainesville, daughter, Suprena Bailey and her husband Jason of Athens; sisters, Ruby Callaway of Baldwin, Rose Wright of Gainesville; brothers, Harvey Bailey and Lamar Bailey both of Gainesville; grandchildren, Lamar Bailey, Taylor Bailey, Brooklyn Bailey, Joshua Bailey, Carita Bailey and Tony Bailey, Shannon Watson; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Jeff Chandler officiating. The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens, following the service.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service, at Evans Funeral Home. 

Those attending are asked to maintain the recommended social distancing of six feet and please wear protective masks, in accordance with guidelines concerning the Coronavirus.
