Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Virginia “Jennie” Allen, age 87 of Winder, Georgia who entered rest Sunday, April 5, 2026. Mrs. Allen was born in Winder, Georgia the daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey Willard and the late Annie Dunagan Willard. Mrs. Allen was a member of Center Methodist Church, was a homemaker, a caregiver for her late son, Marcus Lee Allen and ran the office of the family business, Allen Aerospace. In addition to her parents and her late son, Mrs. Allen is preceded by her husband Leroy “Frog” Allen and a cousin who was like a sister, Betty Edgar.
Survivors include a son Max R. Allen and his wife Fran of Winder. Granddaughter Caroline Barto and her husband Brad of Jefferson. Two great grandchildren, Emmy and Shep Barto of Jefferson. Brother, Jackie Wallace and his wife Von of Statham, and a cousin who is like a brother, Bobby Wallace of Winder.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Ned Davis officiating with burial to follow in the Allen family lot at Center Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. prior to the service at Evans Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Virginia “Jennie” Allen to the Jackson County Service Center (Solar Tech), 106 Industrial Parkway, Commerce, Georgia 30529.
