Mrs. Wanda Jean (McGinnis) Jones

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Wanda Jean McGinnis Jones, age 64 of Jefferson who entered rest Tuesday, June 24, 2025.  Mrs. Jones was born in Winder, Georgia a daughter of the late Hoyt Cecil McGinnis and Frances Elizabeth Hall McGinnis of Jefferson.  Mrs. Jones was of the Baptist Faith and was an  Inspector at Gillsville Manufacturing.  

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Wayne Jones of Jefferson.  Daughter, Penny Elizabeth Jones of Jefferson.  Grandsons, Todd “J.T.” Minish and Gage C. Minish of Jefferson.  Brother, Douglas McGinnis of Flowery Branch, and a sister Barbara Cox of Jefferson.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 30, 2025 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Douglas Gaines officiating.  Burial will follow in Evans Memory Gardens.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Kenny Phillips, Jon Dewberry, Darrell Gaines, Cecil McGinnis, Todd Minish and Terry Whisnant.  The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Monday, prior to the service at Evans Funeral Home.
