Ms. Karen (Pope) Case

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Ms. Karen Pope Case, age 51, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Ms. Case was born in Ellensburg, Washington the daughter of Sue Reeder Pope of Jefferson, GA and the late Bobby Earl Lewis Pope. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Pope.

Karen worked as an LPN with the Hall County School System. She loved to travel, work as an activist but most of all she loved being around and helping people. Karen encouraged visiting wildlife, was an avid gardener, and loved sea turtles and supported the Jekyll Island Sea Turtle Center. Family was everything to Karen, especially her children.

In addition to her mother, survivors include daughter, Susan Case (Fiancé’, Frances Brock) of Athens, GA. Son, Samuel Case of Jefferson, GA. Two brothers, Richard Pope (Lynne) of Jefferson, GA and Bill Pope (Sally) of Phoenix, AZ. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In accordance with Ms. Case’s wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of life service will be held later. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Jekyll Island Sea Turtle Center 214 Stable Rd, Jekyll Island, GA 31527.
