Thomas Jefferson Roberts

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson, Georgia announces the death of Mr. Thomas Jefferson Roberts, age 79, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday July 27, 2024. Mr. Roberts was born in Oxford, Alabama the son of the late Otis Cleveland Roberts and the late Sadie Ithoma Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Miller (Lonnie) and Carol Pesnell ( Hugh), brother,   Harris Roberts (9 yo) and a sister in law, Maple Dale “White” Aligood.

Mr. Roberts retired from AAA Cooper Transportation after 30 plus years as a truck driver.  He was an avid Atlanta  Braves fan and also enjoyed watching football games. He spent countless hours watching old westerns of any kind especially Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, and John Wayne movies. He also collected western memorablia. His two passions were riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and anything Coca Cola. His first motorcycle was specialized with Coca Cola ghost paint detailings. His favorite room of his home is filled with his vast collection of Coca Cola treasures.  Mr.  Roberts was a veteran of the United States Navy. 

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-seven years, Betty White  Roberts of Jefferson, GA. Two sons, Jeff Roberts (Lubna) of Lewisville, TX. and Terry Lynn Roberts (Jackie) of Tucson, AZ. Two grandchildren, Taylor Jackson Roberts and Grayson Tyler Roberts, both of Lewisville, TX. Three sisters in laws, Mavis W. Schauber (Bobby), Cataula, GA., Mary W. Simmons (Jerry, deceased), Donalsonville, GA., Linda W. Huckaby (Mac McIntosh), Marietta, GA. and two brothers in law, Jimmy Wayne White (Vickie), Albany, GA., and Doug Aligood, Iron City, GA. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at  5:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Matt Long officiating. The service will conclude in the Chapel. However, a private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Friday from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. prior to the service at Evans Funeral Home.
